Volkswagen has announced its new model called Jetta which has attracted all the car lovers. The Jetta, this name was adopted by Volkswagen from the word Jet Stream. This was the sedan version of Volkswagen’s one of old car model called Golf. Actually development of Jetta was for North America. It is little bit higher model with very nice interiors and little bit highly priced then its original variant Golf. From its development phase it has been launched five times and each of the generationhas a change in size, prestige and power. Jetta is available in two door, four door and five door models.

Very first generation of Jetta, which was named A1 and it, was produced in 1980. It was created in two different models, a two-door coupe and sedan model having four doors. It was completely styled by Italian design. It was having found cylinder engine which gives 78 horsepower to this model of Jetta. The same model was also offered in diesel variant as well. In 1984, Volkswagen has also produced GLI Jetta which was having 1.8 liter engine.

Second generation of Jetta was A2 which was also called as longest running generation of this car. Production period of this generation was from 1985 to 1992. It was also available in coupe and sedan. There was lot of up gradation done in exterior, engine, safety features and interior design in this generation of Jetta. This model has got 1.8 liter engine having four cylinders. After this they have launched a new version of Jetta called A3 in 1993. This model was having very sexy look and it was only offered in sedan model. The period of this A3 model was up to 1998. In this generation they have given more variations then others. They kept a base engine of 2 liter with four cylinders which gives 115 horsepower engine. Its diesel variant has got 1.9 liter engine which was producing throughput of 90 horsepower. Above all, they have introduced the power model of this generation called GLX which has got six cylinder engines and producing 172 horsepower speed.
