DNA Dr. subramanian swamy 2G

Dr. Subramanian Swamy, whose efforts had led to the exposure of the million dollar 2G scam, is now all set for the battle against Home Minister (then Finance minister) P Chidambaram. Producing documents in the Supreme Court which showed that Chidambaram was involved in deciding the second generation (2G) spectrum pricing, Dr. Swamy brought the next big name of the centre to the scene. Dr. Swamy presented the documents before the apex court bench of Justice GS Singhvi and Justice AK Ganguly and requested a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into Chidambaram’s alleged role in deciding the price of 2G spectrum allocation. “The party does not doubt his integrity. This precise issue has been raised by Dr Swamy in the apex court and is sub judice.

“Without waiting for the proceedings to be completed, it is highly objectionable and inappropriate for Dr Swamy or anyone else to pass premature judgement on the very same issue on which he is seeking relief”, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said. (newsreporter.in)



The communication signed by the then finance secretary D. Subbarao said: “The FM (finance minister) said that for now we are not seeking to revisit the current regimes for entry fee or revenue sharing.”

Subbarao also recorded the finance minister’s suggestion that “keeping in view lessons of experience,allotment of licences and allocation of spectrum must be based on solid legal grounds”.

Swamy told the court that all along, on the question of 2G spectrum pricing, the then finance minister and his ministry’s officials were kept in the loop. (news.vakilno1.com)
