No. 13 Short Service Commission (13 SSC) Course – Commencing from January 2014

No. 42 Short Service Commission (42 SSC) Course (Female) – Commencing from January 2014
Eligibility Criteria : 
Age Limit : Must be between 19 to 23 Years as on 1st January 2014. Age Relaxation up to 25 Years would be given to those candidates  who holding the valid Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA.
Education Qualification : Applied Candidates must holding bachelor’s degree in any manner with minimum 60% Marks covered from a recognized university or approved B.E/B.Tech Colleges situated across all over India.

Leg Lenth : Min 99 CMs – Max 120 CMs.
Note : Candidates who have failed the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt OR a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply.

No. 56 Short Service Commission (56 SSC) Course – Commencing from January 2014.
University Entry Scheme (UES – 2014) (Permanent Commission ) – Commencing from July 2014.
For Female :

Eligibility Criteria : 
Age Limit : Min 18 to Max 28 years as on 1st January 2014.

Pay Scale :  Selected candidate while training will be going on he/she will be able to get  Rs 15,600  -  39,100 along with all other facilities and after successful completion of training IAF will pay as per below to commissioned officers.
(a) Flying Branch:- Rs 63,694/-
(b) Technical Branch:- Rs 54,944/-
(c) Ground Duty Branches :- Rs 52,444/-
Selection Procedure : All eligible candidates who applied successfully and fulfill eligibility conditions will be call for AFCAT on 24th February 2013 and candidates who qualify in this test will be called for further test which will be done in three stages, Stage-I: Intelligence Test, Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview, Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
AFCAT 2013 Exam Pattern : 
AFCAT Exam will contain total 100 MCQ type questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
AFCAT 2013 Syllabus :
(a) General Awareness– History, Sports, Geography, Environment,  Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
(b) Verbal Ability in English– Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
(c) Numerical Ability– Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test– Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
